A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caretaker and friend, she passed away at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center from complications following surgery. She was 76, born Nov. 13, 1933, in Plaquemine. She raised her family in Baker, and later moved to Baton Rouge. She was a former accountant for Hannis T. Bourgeois, and was owner of Finance Investment of Baton Rouge for 25 years. She was often referred to as "Mumzie" or "Crazy Maw Maw." Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Friday, Sept. 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Saturday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jesse Bourgoyne. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by her four sons, Billy "Skip" James Rayburn Jr. and wife Darlene, Mark Lynn Rayburn, and Brutus Dwain Rayburn and fiancée Donna Escuadra, all of Baton Rouge, and Shawn Norman Thomas Rayburn and wife Melissa, of Denham Springs; special daughters-in-law, Sandra Kennedy Rayburn, Tina Rogers Craft, Rainee Pierson Rayburn and Mary Anzelone; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jason, Jona, Joshua, Brutus II, Jake, Justin, Brittany and Brandon Rayburn, Adam Brumit, Ashley Mathis, Nicole and Terry Kieren, Susan Rayburn Espey and Cheri Rayburn Stewart, and Gabriel and Benedict Escuadra; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Laynie, Bryce, Ethan, Lilian and Thomas Rayburn; three sisters, Betty Love Larson Zimmer, of Ethel, Sadie Larson Mancuso and husband Tony, of Plaquemine, and Melva "Sunny" Jean Larson, of Baton Rouge; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, R.G. Rayburn and wife Marie, and Martha Rayburn, all of Baton Rouge, Myrgle Rayburn, of Walker, John Rayburn and wife Joyce, of Albany, Gary Sanders, of Vidor, Texas, and Norman Worley, of San Diego, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Billy James Rayburn Sr.; two sisters, Hazel Katherine Larson Worley and Shirley Mae Larson Green; father and mother, Norman Joseph and Sarah Crowson Larson; brothers-in-law, Donald and Rudy Rayburn, Warren Zimmer and C.D. Green; and sister-in-law, Diane Rayburn Sanders. Pallbearers will be Jason, Jonathan, Jona, Joshua and Brandon Rayburn and Terry Kieren. Honorary pallbearers are Brutus II and Jake Rayburn.
