Frederick Andrew "Fred" Gross, 64, a resident of Zachary, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Local 406, where he worked for 42 years. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Marone. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Juanita Ann Gross; two daughters, Veronica Gross and her fiancé, Leroy Hall, of Prairieville, and Cassandra Gross and fiancé, Michael Kish, of Denham Springs; three stepdaughters, Cindy Luquette and her husband, Mike, and Deborah Lucas and her husband, Delton, all of Central, and Dawn Cowart and her husband, Larry, of Zachary; a son, Chad Andrew Gross and his wife, Jean, of Summerville, S.C.; three sisters, Judy Cambre and her husband, David, Ida Dugas and her husband, Tim, and Lisa Simmons and her husband, Billy; a brother, Thomas Gross; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Gross Jr.; his mother, Nora Rita Gross; and his brother, John E. Gross. He enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing.
