BATON ROUGE – West Feliciana improved to 2-1 on the season with a 48-6 win over Broadmoor.
The Saints exploded for 28 first-quarter points begun when DeShawn Morrison scored on a two-yard run after he gained 69 yards on West Feliciana’s first play.
The Saints’ defense then got into the scoring act as Adam Burns recovered a Buc (1-2) fumble and ran 22 yards to put WFHS up 14-0 with early in the first period.
West Feliciana continued the barrage when Morrison connected with Ivan Smith for a 1-yard touchdown and Dane Denham’s kick pushed the Saints ahead 21-0.
Preston Cobb added an 11-yard scoring run to cap off the Saints’ barrage for a 28-0 lead heading into the second period.
After a scoreless second quarter, West Feliciana added two scores in the third quarter when Morrison scored from 21 yards out and Cobb added a 5-yard scoring run to push the Saints ahead, 41-0.
WFHS closed out their scoring when Devon Turner scored on a 4-yard run and the Saints were comfortably ahead , 48-0 .
Broadmoor avoided the shutout when Devonte Thomas scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter.
West Feliciana totaled 391 yards of offense, while Broadmoor recorded 154 yards with only nine yards passing.
Morrison led the Saints with 112 yards rushing on five carries and he also completed 3-of-6 passes for 68 yards. Javone Emery added 91 yards on 12 tries.
West Feliciana entertains Catholic High of Pointe Coupee (2-1) on Friday.
