"Have mercy on me and I will have mercy on you. Return my hands to me and I shall give you peace, the more you honor me, the more I shall bless you." Russ LeBlanc, of Baton Rouge, formerly of St. Gabriel, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, surrounded by his children, at his daughter's home in Zachary. He was born May 27, 1948, in Baton Rouge to Mr. and Mrs. William Russell Boote LeBlanc Sr., who were of St. Gabriel. He is survived by his children, Anne-Marie LeBlanc Easley and her husband, John, of Zachary, Jennifer LeBlanc Simpson and her husband, Jay, and William R. "Will" LeBlanc III, all of Mobile, Ala., and Tristan LeBlanc, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Annelise Marie Medlin, Aubrie Marie Medlin, Ashlyn Marie Simpson and John L. "Trey" Simpson III; and sisters, Sandra LeBlanc, of Hammond, Carol LeBlanc Day, of Elton, Cheryl LeBlanc Babin and her husband, Lynn, and Renee LeBlanc Nettles, all of Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell "Redbug" LeBlanc Sr. and Dorothy "Dot" Landry LeBlanc; and grandparents, Dr. Boote O. LeBlanc, Daisy Carville LeBlanc, Emile Landry and Laura Halloman Landry, who were all of St. Gabriel. Visitation was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Sunday, Oct. 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Gabriel, on Monday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with Monsignor Robert H. Berggreen, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stan LeBlanc, Paul Cashio, Doug LeBlanc, John Easley, Jay Simpson and Lynn Babin. Honorary pallbearers are Leo Berggreen, Robert E. Berggreen, William "Bill" Lee, and his co-workers at Conn's. We would like to thank Dr. Christopher McCanless, Dr. Andrew Lauve, nurse Kory and the entire staff at the Pennington Cancer Center for the wonderful care our father received during his illness. A very special thanks to Marla Hives for the loving care and support she showed all of us and especially our father during his final days with us.
