A resident of Tunica, he retired as a correctional officer from Angola State Penitentiary. He died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, in Baton Rouge. He was 52 and a native of Centreville, Miss. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Clark. Burial in Rogillio Family Cemetery. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Darren Bordelon, of Angola; a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Cortney Blades, of Smithdale, Miss.; a niece and three nephews, Catherine Blades, Benjamin Blades, Darren Bordelon Jr. and Todd Bordelon; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and father and mother, Cleon and Pearl Anderson Blades. He loved fishing, mechanic work and helping others, and was a good friend to everyone he met.
