A native and resident of Tunica, Shirley Bernice Nicholas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center at the very youthful age of 48. Funeral services will be held at Tunica Methodist Church on Monday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m., officiated by the Rev Michael Clark. She will be laid to her final resting place in Rogillio Cemetery. Shirley is survived by two sons, John Harrigill Jr., of Dallas and Jacob Harrigill, of Tunica; two granddaughters, Ava Harrigill, of Natchez, Miss., and Krystal Harrigill, of Zachary; father, James Nicholas, of Tunica; sister, Cynthia Nicholas, of Tunica; brother, John Nicholas and wife Tammy, of Tunica; and nephews, James Nicholas, of Tunica and Marco Robinson, of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Nicholas; a son, Jeremiah Harrigill; and husband, William Walker. Shirley was a loving and caring mother, wife, sister and daughter. She will be greatly missed by all that she came in contact with. Leaving this earth to be with those that have passed before, she will remain in memory of those that are not far behind.
